Title: WTD: Merci Steering wheel center UK
Post by: CdRsKuLL on September 27, 2015, 04:42:48 AM
Hi All,

I'm after the Merci center for my steering wheel. I know LamboLambo used to do some but sold his moulds. Anyone got one they want to sell? I'm in the UK.

Thanks,

Steve

I know who bought his mold, I'll ask him to post here.  He just made a couple of them last week.  How is LamboLambo? It's been a while since I spoke with him.

I made the exact copy of the Murci steering wheel about 6 or 7 years ago which people are copying in fiberglass and a bad one at that. I put small markers in my wheel so if it gets copied it has those marks. There was one on ebay who was selling a cheep copy of mine including my stolen pictures as well. These copies are made in fiberglass or resin and look really bad absolute junk. I put a substantial $$ and time to get the material exact as the OEM.
My Copy is exact in look and feel and not made out od some cheep fiberglass junk. In the second pic the one on the left is OEM and right is my exact copy. I also have a solution that uses the OEM steering wheel with the cover. I have sold these covers to OEM folks who had deployed there airbags and did not wanted to pay $8K for a new one. I have sold many to Europe and Asia and there are several real murci with my replica airbags as well floting around in the states.

Sorry I had to vent.....

Thanks for venting, still not sure why yours are so much better then mine? Are you intentionally trying to start a fight? I think CdRsKuLL can vouch for the quality LamboLambo was known for, which is where I obtained my mold from!  ::tongue

Purple....

Only thing I have to say is if Lambolambo made the mold then he should have the original that he pulled it from or at least a pic showing something to that effect. I posted a pic below where I show the OEM airbag I pulled the original mold from. I also have a receipt from 07 showing the purchase of the OEM airbag new. If he did not copy an original then he replicated it. either case the only version I have seen that supposedly was from lambolambo was in fiberglass and ever heard of his cover until after I was making them and selling them. I am not saying that he did not make one I am just saying that I made mine from a real OEM airbag that I purchased new, eventually one of the member here bought one of my replica airbag then copied it and was selling them, this was also copied by roblp640 and being sold. No one thus far is selling them that looks and feels just like the OEM ready to be installed, all thus far are cheep copies of mine in fiberglass which is totally junk.
Anyway....... By all means sell yours as I no longer sell replica parts (time to time I will put some left over stuff on ebay)
Just and FYI...... I made exact copies of all the hard to find stuff like the interior switches bezels, even the front and rear head lights as well as a working copy of the dash gauge cluster.
If you google me you will find bunch of stuff I used to sell

So Fiberglass is junk??? Maybe we should inform everyone on this forum that our cars are constructed from junk! You can not tell me your airbag cover is anymore OEM then the next one since they are actually made out of plastic and covered in an embossed leather! So I do not want to another word about how yours are better then mine (which was molded from an original) cause it is a complete lie! Sorry it was my turn to vent!!!  ::wave

I really do not care to make a sale period! Not my intent, this was a conversation between CdRsKuLL and the owner of LamboLambo's mold, he did not mention anything about talking to you so I am not sure how or why you found your way into this conversation! And if you think I'm worried, I am not, I have an OEM bag sitting next to me and can tell you for a fact from a processing standpoint you are not making any more accurate copies then the next guy!

@ Purple, dude why you always shouting at people? I have noticed that you use exclamation points in almost every sentence of every post you make. You get so angry over stupid stuff. You almost bit the dudes head off that posted about cancer treatments i dont get it  ::scratch you got some serious anger issues. Go smoke a bowl mannn. chilll brahh, make this a fun place, not a hangout for douchebags  ::rocker
Title: Re: WTD: Merci Steering wheel center UK

For starters do not call me a douchebag! And at the same time I've explained this before, it is not my intent to yell. I use exclamation points in almost every sentence, I really have no clue why I do it but I just do. Look back at my posts of me explaining how I acquired something, or did something, almost every sentence has an exclamation point. It pains me to not put one in every sentence I am typing right now lol. And I apologize if anyone takes offence to what I say . Now look back at what was talked about in this particular thread, a guy asked about LamboLambos mold I told him I would make him one no problem (exclamation point) then some other guy butts in and says that mine and every other steering wheel cover ever made is flat out garabage. So why does this make me the douchebag??? The cancer thing I should have stayed out of. But it's also something that should have never been posted. It's right up there with starting a political debate on a forum about Lamborghini's not politics. I feel strongly about modern medicine,  and I also think that some people believe they are more knowledgeable then a doctor. If someone can post there opinion on healthcare, I can do the same. Every post I right I am cool and as calm as a cucumber. This is a fun place for me and I try to keep it that way, I really don't like when we get as sidetracked as to talk about stuff like cancer, if I wanted to talk about something other then Lambo's I'd use my Google search and look for something else. This site needs more builders, not people talking about nonsense. I would love to see your build sir, as it really does break my heart when a long time forum member completes a build and no one had a chance to learn from it. And thanks for the offer but no left hand cigarettes for me.

LP640.... I bow in front of you..... Your wheel is awesome.... Now its up to folks who scream about things that do not need to be screamed about and blame others......
Lets Have you post your cover and let the Forum members be a judge to whose is better. I posted mine.

To everyone else......

A friend of mine (Forum member who will be posting shortly) showed me a fiberglass cover he bought that was "SUPOSEDELLY" from lambolambo...... It has the same tell tail sign that I put in my mold.....
Another words the cover he showed me is a copy of my work STOLEN FROM ME..... and yes it's JUNK compare to what I used to make and the OEM.....

And good luck covering it in leather and getting it to look OEM

So Mr..... Screamer (Ya you called me on)   Lets see your work so every one on the forum can compare for themselves......

Either case AGAIN!!!!!!   you have nothing to worry about, I generally do not sell parts anymore. AGAIN!!!!!!!!! I was sharing some frustration which was not pointed at you.......

Goodluck

CCIE, so what if your cover is in fact better? What does that prove?
People's hard work getting copied and reproduced is nothing new or shocking in this hobby. I'm sure my parts have been copied and re-copied by now. It sucks but it's how this machine works.
I've received a lot of parts from Purple Sv and they are excellent examples of perfection. And not for the extremely high prices you charge.
If his mold is a copy of your work, why are you attacking him and not the person who made the copy?
Also keep in mind the person you are attacking is the same person setting up group buys and sharing a lot of useful info. When's the last time you did a group buy for $0 profit?

Would you please look back at the original post and tell me where I went wrong? A guy asked where he could acquire a part, I said I would make him one no problem, then I got attacked and insulted. Am I not allowed to throw it back in his face??? I don't know where you get off calling me a douchebag and sence when did an exclamation point imply yelling? I never claimed that I was better then anyone on here, most of my parts I've acquired from many of the great people on this forum and I am more then greatful for all of them. Without there parts and willingness to help I wouldn't have a chance at finishing my car. Go smoke your bowl and get back to me when you chill out a bit. Geeesh this is so stupid and childish but think for a second before you call someone a douchebag!!!

S.pearcy HEY BRAHHH THIS IS ACTUALLY CONSIDERED YELLING. Hard to believe in just a few post you some how have an idea that this forum is being killed because of helpful members posting that they could provide a part. So I ask you sir what can you help the forum with? As for helpful advise... CdRsKull I have seen a fiberglass version and I have one of CCIE as well and I ended up getting a blown OEM cover and repaired it like USMC Butler had shown in one of his post. Hard to find but looks great. Anyways but what you want from someone you trust. Good luck

@ Texas.. where in the world did you learn to read?? show me where i said in capital letters HEY BRAHHH ?? i never used capitol letters at all because that would be shouting. Purple shouts and is very negative in his comments and responses to many other forum members posts. Its 100% unnecessary wouldnt you agree to that?? i am asking you now is it necessary to be so negative?? and yes i have been watching this forum and havnt been a member till recently so what?? i am building a Diablo SV replica and will happy to show my build when im ready. I will never boast and i will always stand up against "forum bullying" and you should be ashamed for supporting it! theres your exclamation point! Many people have complained about this forum being so so much drama and jerks and im sure NO BULL didnt intend for it to be that way either. So my question is why are you allowing it to happen and why do you defend the man members who do it?? cause they are your beer buds?? you bought something from them in the past ?? only an ignorant fool will be biased and support another who colearly is in denial and lies about what he does. I hate people that cannot own up to what they do, its calleld having integrity. When someone intentionally lashes out at another its simply unnecessary thats all im saying brahhhh. Im all for peace man im building my car and i want friends buti dont need or want a friend(s)who is a douchebag. Man up, own what you did wrong and apologize then move on and be nice. Period.

You really are a different kind of stupid aren't you! I tried to not offend you by getting rid of my exclamation points, but you still do not have the capability to decipher my tone one way or another! Do you even pay attention to what you write??? Texas never said that you used capital letters to yell, he simply pointed out what yelling is on a forum, and then tasteful made fun of your "hey brahh" So maybe you need to look in the mirror cause I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, you are a new member, and my post total/time spent/contributions means absolutely nothing! But within this thread alone (your) percentage of negative posts is at more then 50%  Calling me a douchebag in every post is the epitome of forum bullying!!!!

s.pearcy- If you want this to be a better place then post something helpful. No name calling, or insulting people's intelligence, diverting threads, and I ask that if you are going to talk that way then please do not quote scripture. So I challenge you to post something with actual content, that is relitive to the forum, and constructive or help others with advise related to building these cars. Really you could use a dose of your own medicine. Read the posts again then objectively read your responses. You need to get your constructive/ positive post up a bit so no more stuff like this. You are not a moderator so you are just blasting out your opinions of people and nothing related to cars. So if all your going to do on this forum is be some sort of bully police then please move on. I hope that you can become a productive member that builds cars and shares his knowledge on his journey.

Calling all my fellow gearheads, builders, supporters, etc.  Why is everyone always fighting? Wait don't answer that. Lets just move on instead of driving people off this forum. We got two or three people making airbags on the site?  Good, that's better then one person making them. Remember the first reventon? People complained about it to the point it drove the builder off the sites. I was happy that someone actually built one no matter what the condition was  People got a hold of it, reworked it and recasted molds. I rework parts all the time. Lets just move on and continue building.

How can you get upset that someone "might" have copied your part when you did the same to Lamborghini, admittedly? s.pearcy he is also misusing the word exact!!! GET EM!

Texas..... These are really really old. This is when I was experimenting with different format to make them thin enough that can be wrapped around a replica wheel of different type. I dumped them on ebay with clear definition of there condition. I also mentioned they were as is and was produced for replica wheels as test (even in the pic you posted you can see the hot glue I used for test molfing, these were test airbag and sold a while back "as is' and clearly listed as such). Again these are from several years ago and if you were not happy then why did you not ask for a new one then or money back (This was purchased through ebay), this is the first I am hearing about this issue. I have much improved the process since then including making them thin enough for a real working airbag in the center to come out of (from the tear line) as well as flexible enough and trim-able that they can fit other steering wheel and not just the OEM steering wheel.

Again I have no issue with Purple or any one.... Its just that I always hear about lambolambo but never seen any pic of his cover nor the original cover. I bought an OEM cover just for this purpose back in 08 (have receipt) have pic all over internet but cant find a single one from lambolambo. I also bought 3 separate fiberglass covers and they all have tell tale sign of marks that were produced from my molding process (very small but only could have came from my molding process) and are clearly a copy of mine. I put a lot of money into this project that I will never get out so selling them for $200 was not too high or selling the "EXACT COPY" that included a OEM wheel and custom adaptor for under $1000 was not that high. I am sure you all have bought other parts such as suspension, breaks, lights ect and we all know how much they can cost. My cost for the airbag was $6000+ alone not including my time and all the molding chemicals including working with a manufacturer to come up with a correct blend to have the look and feel as exact as the original. (I put quite a bit of funds into this project). As an example a forum member here was offering a set or machined rings for the switches for the murci for $1000 +shiping.... small rings How come no one ever said anything about that!!!!
Frustrating at the least because I needed them for my Diablo

To point out if one was to google Lamborghini replica steering wheel or airbag you will see my work/wheel but you wont find any listing or any info on Lambolambo..... (Hence the frustration, again I am not saying he did or didn't make one just I am unable to find any info or pic of his work And mind your I have been in replica for really long time (not that I am an expert or anything but I have been around)

We are all in this because of a common dream that we all share and we should all work together rather then fight. I was sharing my frustration in my previous post that's all. I no longer make or sell replica parts because of the drama and upfront cost.
Again my earlier post was sharing frustration rather then making any one upset... I hardily come around

I will be the first to apologies to every one this forum

Anyway Texas....... PM me and we will go from there

I also have no issues with you CCIE! But am not overly fond of the bully police!!!!!!! I'm posting these pics for reference as the top 3 are LamboLambos original watermarked photos, the ones below it are my pics. The only reason I said anything in return was cause the words "exact" and "junk fiberglass" were being thrown around! Exact would require a plastic injection machine and an embossed leather cover! No hard feelings bud!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. Eat it Bully Police!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Purple, have you ever thought about trying to make a mould and copy LP640 abs grilles? I think you could do it and its something that many people need. Huge demand for these obviously, you have the skills, and its something that no one has really focused on as a project that i can see. The only ones i have seen come close but are too thin,  and the octacagan  holes arent quite the same shape/size as oem wich are fairly thick and curved. Maybe those new 3D printers could be used to make plactic grilles and console pieces? Give it shot you'd be the only guy producing them and make a few bucks at the same time  :)

Although I would love to it would require obtaining the originals and I'm making a 670! I usually only do parts that pertain to my car and try to help others that need the same! There are a lot more talented guys on here that are better suited for that job then I am! It has been considered but the cost of the molds would be crazy for the amount of people wanting them since most people have G28's which I don't believe fit the factory grills!

I have the OE grills. Putting them on the G28 bumper will take some serious work to make them fit correctly.
