All this to make a movie! That sucks, although the movie made more then enough to pay for damages in sure!

I'd like to shake the hands of the builders who built that replica, that thing is exact!

I'd bet a case of beer that this was a real Lambo simply because the doors are dented up which would point to them using OEM doors and probably a real Murci. For the crash scene, they probably used a mule that started out as an older ragged out factory test car or a car that was handed back as a "Lemon" under the Lemon law. It would've been painted up like the Hero and it may not have even had an drive train. The Hero would've been really nice car used for the driving and close up scenes and this car is probably in someones collection as the "Batman car" or sent back to the factory to be put on display someday.
Just a hunch but even Hollywood will try to save a buck whenever possible. ::toothy

Seems strange they'd go through the trouble of making an exact replica with all oem parts while I'm sure they can afford to crash all 3 oem cars. I'm sure each of the actors can afford to crash one...

Yup, they had 2 replicas, built by Motion Picture Vehicles in Reseda. They were just exteriors, no interiors at all.

Mike, are you allowed to say the movie they are / will be in? Were they G28 based or the bodies made from so other style mold?

The movie was Dark Knight, and the bodies were Triangle-G G28L's. They were only used for the crash scenes (as insert shots), and the real car's used for everything else. There were 2 real cars and 2 replica's. One Hero was set on a trailer to do POV shots and interiors, the other was was for exterior and street shots.
