Title: Where's the guy that was going to do a 90 day build?
Post by: 01Lambiero on December 11, 2012, 09:26:20 AM
Was the 90 day build on this forum or another?  The builder had to have it finished by early Dec.  Thanks.  Jim

OK, USMC.  Here's your scenario. (DAY #89) Your car is all painted in time.  It's gorgeous!  You still have to install the hardware in the doors and the windows. (Are you with me?)  The RH door is a whiz and all works and looks good.  Everything goes well on the LH door and you have just installed the trim panel.  You stand back and admire your work.  As you look over your work bench, you see that you are missing a 7/16" quarter drive socket.  Note to self:  Self, find socket.  Tomorrow maybe but not today, you say.  You are sitting in your car admiring all of your hard work and you say to yourself, "nice, really nice!"  You roll up the drivers door window and about a inch from the top, you hear a SKRUNCH and a small hairline crack appears from inside the door and runs on an upward angle to the top (OH, you say, can't happen as I have tempered glass)  POW! goes your window into a thousand pieces.  The tears flow ever so slowly down you cheeks as your wife comes to the garage and reminds you that your Mother in law is on her way over to stay for two weeks.

I just dont see how anyone could do a complete build in 6 months unless they had 2 or 3 good helpers. I finished mine in 192 days, working 6-7 days a week and 6 to 10 hours a day. Although I had to make alot of little supply runs. I had 80% of everything I needed in my garage when I started.

Juan at North Valley Auto Body takes a car from start to finish in 3 months. The batwings dont work, theres no windows, no horn, etc, but the car is assembled painted and running with the stock G28 interior installed in 90 days.

He's probably out driving his Lamboclone around town and cruising through the highschool parking lot.   :P
