Title: 915 shifter
Post by: norcaldiablo on January 27, 2013, 05:55:53 PM
I have an IFG Diablo now. It gas an LS1 with a porsche 915. There is no shifter, and just a "rod" sticking out of the back of the trans. I have no experience with Porsche's.

I am wondering how to shift it. I have heard to stay away from cable shifters, yet see Kennedy and such make kits for this, offering a simple solution. I have seen the sketch for making a mechanical one but haven't crawled under te car to see if I could make one.

Any suggestions?

Phil

Do you have the actual shifter, but need help with the linkage between the shifter and trans?

I have nothing but the trans, no shifter or cables.

I believe it is a 5 speed but not sure.

I read somewhere that someone was using a Fiero shifter for a Porsche tranny. They didn't go into detail however, but said it was working well.?????

Did Fiero have a 5 speed?

the 915 is available in both 4 and 5 speed. You should figure out which one you have before buying a shifter for it.
