Murcie / LP640 Carbon Fiber Rear Spoiler

<< < (3/3)

No Bull:
Here are some pictures of the spoiler sitting on top of my car.  Excuse the messy shop, I'm in the process of moving to my new shop this month.   ::toothy

The new LP670 style brackets will lift the spoiler up about 9 - 12 inches and back over the rear of the car like a LP670 spoiler.  Some of the pictures show the quality of the carbon fiber finish which isn't bad for a spoiler of this size under $400.

The last two pictures show the space differences of the brackets mounted on the spoiler and the inside rear edges of the quarter  panels.  A couple spacers on the outside of each spoiler bracket should allow the new brackets to line up well.

The average person would not know the difference!

Robert:
Cool!

No Bull:
My spoiler isn't going to be an exact copy of the LP670 spoiler but I think it'll give it that style and stand out while being a little different.

Here are some pictures of a LP670 spoiler and how it attaches to the car.  I'm not modifying my rear muffler cover just to mount the spoiler so I'll figure out a way to reinforce the backside of the quarters where they meet the muffler panel and just attach to them.

Here is some information on the rear spoiler I bought for my LP640 roadster.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/350840721579?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

It's 69" inches wide which puts it at the very edges of the rear of the car without actually overlapping the quarter panels.  It appears to be real carbon fiber but combined with plastic or fiberglass material in places (probably to save on construction costs).

The spoiler comes with a couple different brackets but I think I'm going to have some LP670 brackets made so it mounts up to the inner sides of the quarters where the muffler panel meets the quarters.  The factory mounting brackets on the spoiler are about 2" inward on either side from where the LP670 brackets will meet and I'll use plastic blocks on either side of the spoiler so everything matches up.  You can bolt on the carbon fiber sides on the ends of the spoiler (I am) or make a finish plates and bolt them on instead.

More pictures of the spoiler and it sitting on my car to follow.
