We didn't attend any costume parties this year and our youngest is 18.  :)

I have enough costumes from years past that I've begun to recycle on the years we decide to join a party.

Cool costume

Actually pretty good :o

I don't have kids and I don't party or anything so..
I also just moved into a neighborhood where apparently no one cares about halloween, everyone turned off their lights but us so no one came :(
kind of a shame for kids in the area

Thanks for the compliments guys!

So nobody else made costumes this year? Kind of surprised with this group. Maybe you were all too busy building cars? Obviously I have too much time on my hands. ;)
If I don't have time to do it right, when will I have time to do it over?

Since we are a creative bunch here, I was wondering if anyone else made Halloween costumes for their kids this year. If so, please post pics. I'd love to see them.

This year I made TRON costumes for my kids. They were a pretty big hit. :D

The suits are actually quite elaborate. There is a thin under-suit with a wet suit over that. The wet suit had cut-outs to show the under-suit in certain places. This was done to add detail/texture as well as make the suits much cooler to wear. My wife then sewed strips of velcro to hold the lighting in place. We wanted the lighting removable so they could get in and out of the suits without damaging the lighting/wiring. For the lighting I used a material called electroluminescent (EL) wire. The lighting was carefully engineered to allow a full range of motion in the joints. This took some trial and error. I soldiered connectors to each section of lights so they could be easily connected/removed. Working with the EL wire was a challenge. A 12 volt battery pack consisting of 10 AA batteries was tucked behind their belts to power the suits.

I hope you enjoy!
