AdrianBurton:
Leon,  are you also making Diablo glass????

Beyondcustom:
If it doesn't work out for you getting the quantities I am already manufacturing the curved tempered door glass sections for countach to suit Australian standards, Including  laminated windscreens for Countach if it helps you.

All;

We have made progress over the past couple months since my last post. We have engaged a well known glass maker that has provided us some more realistic prices for our hobby. Below is what we would offer out to folks who are interested. Again, these are laminated oem size and shape glass since we just can't find tempered compound curve. We are positive they will be oem shape and size as we have acquired a full set of oem side glass and rear quarter glass and will be sending the pieces to the glass maker to take their glass shaping molds from. Can't get closer than that......

Details:

Eight glass pieces

* two upper
* Two lower
* Two front quarter
* Two rear quarter
* Laminated glass
* DOT markings
* Landed cost upper State New York
Price

* $2500 USD per set
* Plus shipping from Upper State New York which will vary depending on where you are
We can also get windshields with antennas in them and windshields without the antenna.  Again, oem spec shape and size.  We are looking for a first run of 5 sets if possible to better divide the base shipping costs to the US.  For those that have most replicas, you would need to build or adjust your doors and roof line around these pieces since they are a different shape than most of the replicas out there.  This is substantially cheaper than the last glass maker, by $1400 so it brings it down to what we think is more realistic for people who want to get rid of the flat side glass.....

Please reply to this thread or PM me if you are interested.  We would be looking for some concrete commitment from folks as well so we are not caught with a bunch of sets sitting in the US when people back out of the deal.

PM me for details on commitment.  We don't have concrete timelines just yet as we are getting commitment replies from folks before pulling the pin to get this rolling.

Thanks
Don

Folks;

It looks like this side glass endevour is wilting on the vine.

No expression of interest to purchase at what it can be built for so we are shelving the idea for now. The base cost from the factory is just too high to get a set of side glass that the replica community would be willing to purchase. There is very little markup on this so it is all base cost to have them built from the glass factory. Very disappointing.

I am going to continue trying to find a solution that gets me pretty close to oem shape and size but I doubt it will be glass. Probably end up with some Poly carbonate side windows which will scratch more easily but better than Lexan or Plexi.

Cheers
Don
