Fiero rear trunk removal

(1/1)

★Murci-Me★:
The trunk adds rigidity to the rear part of the chassis and helps keep the frame from twisting away from the engine cradle. Cutting the trunk out isn't a problem though even with body on, you just need to add some cross bracing in to re-establish the sheer properties lost by removing the trunk sheet metal.

george:
what tranny did u use

CCIE:
My Diablo 60 is based on a 87 Fiero (fully complete and running) except the trunk is still fully there.
It has a 350 with a engine cover on top. One Rad in the front. The engine bay is getting very hot.....
I was thinking of removing the trunk and putting fans in the rear to circulate the air. Has any one removed the trunk with the body already permanently mounted. What would be the best way to remove the trunk? What about building a brace frame and welding it in place?
Any advise is greatly appreciated

Thanks
CCIE
