Looks great so far
I was wondering why the top louver is as high as the roof, there won't be a 3rd brake light? I'm sure not everything is perfect being hand made but it's turning out pretty good. Congratulations on getting this far!
-
how much do you think it will cost to finish it? more than a real one?
-
Your car is looking awesome and it's great to watch the continued progress. Amazing talent and ambition building everything from scratch and I can't wait to see it complete.
Thanks for joining our site and sharing your story.
Chris
-
Not sure why it'd cost any more than other builds other than making the plug and molds? :o
-
I think he was refering to things like electrical, sheet metal, grills, tail and headlights, etc.
Alot of things are done when you build on a donor, and when you build with a kit. Building your own body means having to create alot of parts for it that you could otherwise buy, or salvage from something else.
-
my building is not about money! But most of the time. So far I have spent so far from about 4500 to 5000 USD. Everything you see in the pictures (wheels, Shocks, tube, fiberglass, Molds, plug, brakes, suspension,engine,tranny,bmw750 donor).
Build a Kit Car or Replica for money on expensive loses sense!
-
Can you post a few pictures of the plug up? ???

Chassis looks great
is your body a lot taller than oem? The rear window looks really high off of the firewall and front bumper support has a beam over it as well ::scratch
was curious how that happened, maybe the chassis just sits lower?
-
I think it should be fine height. Dimensions fits with OEM. I hope :-) I now have a newly reconditioned wheels (polished and painted). And now mounted rear brake discs and calipers. Its final. I want to fourteen days chassis back on the wheels. And I will deploy the engine!
-
You are moving right along now. It will be good to see how your suspension sits with the wheels and the engine in the chassis.

Seat looks nice in there
looks tall :S
-
Nice work! What is the car donor for the sway bars and steering rack?
-
SchulzeA: Sway bar is my own custom from special spring steel. Steering rack is from Skoda Octavia RHD!! If you know why RHD? :-)
Tallon: Right! Those were old photo. I had to cut a remake of reinforcements in the floor. The seat sits now almost a few millimeters above the floor sheet metal! But it is for me very little space .... I'm 185 cm ... :-)
Approximate position now:

Wow! This is a really good build and it's awesome to see you have a drivable chassis now. Those open headers make it sound like a tractor and I can't wait to hear it after you have some good mufflers on there and the engine is tuned.

Bierhanzel, it appears as though any pictures that you had posted in your threads were hosted on another server that has either deleted them or that server is no longer in service. I thought I would bring this to your attention in case you wanted to post any of these pictures again but post them to this server this time. Posting your pictures on the LamboClone server will ensure that they always stay with the Forum (no retention limits) and are available for everyone to see.
Thanks,

Excellent work vita!! This is the first drivable v12 chassis I've ever seen
I've had my video online for 4 years. :D
Replica Lamborghini Diablo Chassis with BMW M70 V12 connected to Audi 016 5 Speed. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wBNsFCQhXH0#)
-
Wow jdinner, that one is gorgeous too!! Is there an automatic transmission that works well with the BMW v12 setup?
I assume you can't use the stock
BMW trans due to mid engine layout ?
-
I don't know of a good auto trans without the need of a computer. The old Audi's (pre-elec. solenoids) might work.
-
Wow!! I've been in Cozumel all week and have been waiting to see this vid.
You have done this one up proper. Congrats!! A piece of art on wheels.
-
Once again thank you all. ::thumbup
No Bull: Yes sound needs some fine-tuning. At low speeds, I do not like so much. In the higher speed is a little better ::pirate but I plan to try to make VALVETRONIC system exhaust.
All my photos from the beginning can be found at http://gt2871r.rajce.idnes.cz/ (http://gt2871r.rajce.idnes.cz/) I do not have much time to upload here again. But if someone has a taste you can build a biography of the pictures :-)
Eddie: Dekuji Eddie ::angel In what state is your chassis?
autopro: worship rule: one person speaks and the other works. :) :) :) The reality is that there is no time to upload photos. Also new pictures every screw me tired. :) :)
RT: I think so too :)
Jdinner: I do not have any problems, even not yet connected fan. yet they are not needed. Longer testing times yet to come. How are you satisfied with the sound of your car?
Video of your chassis has been for me throughout the building inspiration!! A desire!
-
How to achieve this sound? ::pirate ::toothy ;D

Oh that's a surprise! Very exciting
Such determination required to build a car like this, keep it up :)
-
That will be a good addition to your car.
-
I see you fabricated all the inner door workings to the outer door skin. I've never seen it done this way but it looks good. Like they say, " there is no right way to build these cars." Keep it up and the 670 front end will be a nice touch.
-
This has got to be one of the most inspiring things I have ever seen. You seem to have it all coming together nicely. The dream is realized when you add equal parts determination and dirty hands. ::salute :notworthy
I am going to be starting my build here as soon as the South Dakota winter is done having its way with us here in the upper Midwest USA. I will be building my body and chassis from scratch as well.
What transmission did you use with that V12?
