I have someone who says he has designed an adapter to make this work with minimal mods to the transmission. Uses stock flywheel and clutch parts. If I get any interest I will pursue it. Anyone?
-
what is he doing for the clutch?? the 944 box doesnt have provisions for on in it
-
He says hydraulic throw out bearing with easy to install tube for it to ride on. He hasn't sent me any photos yet.
-
I recon he could be right I have one in the shed also the shifter rod went through where the clutch slave would go on a 016 so should not be that hard to adapt
-
what about the input shaft? is it splined the same as say, an audi or other Porsche?
-
Different splines. I think 10. He is using a Chrysler disc. I think also Ford Ranger fits.
-
if you can put that together that would be great, the 944 box is stronger than the 016
-
It can be put together, the question is how much interest is there? I am not going to make any parts until I have an order. The fact that the plate is 2 1/2 inches thick might be a problem for fitting for some builders. This design was done by someone else and I haven't seen all the details. It may be possible to make the plate thinner but I would have to do some research on that.
