RT, I was at the World of Wheels car show in Kansas City.  People just really loved the car.  It's a 1,000 miles to Carlisle for me.

Really nice work Ken.  I look at your website occasionally when I'm stuck on something.  Love the videos.

Hey Guys...
I just reviewed the fairground map for Carlisle and the only references I saw for "Kits" is a place for Vendors.  Nothing specific for the actual builds we do.  The closest I can figure is areas called "OPEN SHOWFIELD - ALL SHOW CARS WELCOME"
This is strange BUT the show is called "Import and Performance".  They don't even reference "Kits" anymore.
It looks like we could go back to the area next to the pavilion.
What do you think?

There appears to be area indicated as location "Q" which list Kit Cars.

Msaby...
WOW!  Nice catch!
I completely missed that.
Geeze, they stick us out on the edge of the field.
That means when I trailer my build in I have to take the trailer all the way to the other side of the fairgrounds to park and walk back.  UGH!

RT, it looks like gate 3 is a main entrance right by your area, no?

I really wish I could attend and bring my car ugghh! Why it has to be so far! :-(

lambo-sam...
Yes, gate 3 is where I come in and the new "kit car row" is right inside with a right turn BUT if you look to the other side of the field, below the pavilion, there is a gray area designated for trailer parking.  That has to be close to a quarter mile away.  We used to be on the other side of the field a lot closer to the trailer parking and a lot of the time we just parked the trailer in an empty area next to the show cars because we were already on the edge of the area filled with show cars.
Anyway, if you did bring your car you would have to start towing tomorrow morning.  LOL.
We would love to have you.

Area Q is designated for preregistered "Clubs". ??  Looks like you're going to be "out east" like the old days.  Sad to say but I won't be able to make it this year.  Can't justify the cost.

Jim, you saw the first "Q" I saw but that is for a club, NOT the "Q" for the line of "KIT CARS".  Look again to the far left on the map between gates 2 and 3, along Bryn Mawr Road.
We will miss you this year but maybe next year will be better.  I hope you are working on your build.  We all want to see you there with your build.

RT: You are right, again.  I would opt for "Open Field" area "J".  It's a better location.

Hey guys...
I'm pretty sure I won't be able to make it to this year's Carlisle show.  I have a lot of things to deal with and it doesn't look like I'll make it.
But if I did, I think I would ignore the location they say the want to put the "Kit Cars" and go to the open showfield near the pavilion.  I can't imagine anyone making their way through lines of Volvos and Saabs to find the kit cars all the way out against the fence.  Locating near the pavilion would be a more highly trafficked location and you would be closer to the food court and facilities.  That is just my reasoning and you should do what you feel is right for you.
Enjoy the show!

I just watched the local news and the weather so far for Saturday is supposed to be good  ::bounce no rain and 74 degrees. Friday looks like possibly a shower later in the day.  Sorry to hear RT and Jim hoping things turn around and you can make it there.  I may go up on Friday for a while to scope out the new spot. It is near the entrances so maybe it will get some traffic but wont know until I try it (keeping positive).  Hope some others can bring their cars it gets kinda lonely when you there alone.  Keeping my fingers crossed on weather and that I am free to spend the day there.

Carlisle wasn't bad today weather was nice maybe a little warm Ken and I were there he parked where RT suggested and I parked where the kits were marked to go. Tomorrow I plane to park with Ken I like that end of the field much better.  By the way Ken's car is freaking beautiful I'm afraid I might be bringing down the value of his car by parking with him.  I only stayed a couple of hours and went home but tomorrow if everything goes well I will be there for a while. There were a few nice Lambo's inside but they were behind a chain so couldn't get to close. Not sure if the pic attached. Tomorrow I need to get some pic's of Ken's car.

Thanks Jim.  It was great to meet a fellow builder of a great car.  I definitely tried to persuade the judges that the 15 years and 2,300 hours of work was more meaningful than someone simply buying an exotic super car.  It was a nice acknowledgement of all that work.  Thanks again.  -Ken

Congrats, Ken.  Super nice job on your build ::thumbup ::thumbup ::thumbup  I don't know how other "Car Shows" handle their judging awards but Carlisle allows the car owners to "PAY" to have their cars judged and then if you can't stay to pick up the award, they will charge you to have it sent to you. (unless they have changed it since 2017)
