It was about 1 to 1 1/4". I cut some 1/2" composite spacers tonight for further testing. Stay tuned for the results!

That's pretty interesting, how wide is the spacer that you used?

Nice work. Building my headlights is a project I hope to tackle this winter. I have all the parts with the exception of the projectors.
Thanks for sharing you findings. ::thumbup

Projector headlight mod (Murcielago)

Most everyone building a Murci replica, have already or will eventually purchase pairs of P1, P6, Satuga etc etc for headlights. They work great but are actually fog lights, which means the light beam output is wide with a short reach. Which also means they suck for headlights unless your driving in a decently lit city environment.  Below are some photos showing "out of the box" light pattern, internal defuser removed light pattern and finally the light pattern after adding a spacer between the bulb and lens. Granted for test purposes I just duck taped a slice of paper coffee cup in as a spacer, but it proves the theory correct. Later I'll cut 1/4" thick spacers from aluminum and stack them as necessary to achieve the desired focus of light. Hope this helps someone  ::thumbup
