The value is in the parts and not the rebuild value on this one.  When you consider $1,500 a pop for the fenders, $1,000 for the hood, $2,000 for the front bumper with trim etc etc.. it adds up quickly.  Agree that it's basically a parts car and would be a good donor for a car with front end damage or the title / VIN could be used to rebuild another car.

That car is gone. It probably has a "unrepairable" salvage title which means it is only allowed to be parted out and not rebuilt to be put back on the road. Which means you will never be allowed to get tags for the car, no matter how good a job you do in repairing it. Even so, it's More trouble than it's worth. I'd be surprised if he gets $10k for it.
