The fitting is the same as front on view '8.14.17' on page 4 , the cable has a rather bulky end fitting so is a bit tight on space. I didn't want you to bin the mould - I was hoping you were at a r&d stage .... :'(
Oooh , Red leather.

Good point. I considered that but figured there must be a reason it was designed that way unlike the door handle style. Could you move the hole back about 1/4" by drilling a new hole? Do you have a picture of how the cable attaches to the pin?

I'd hate to scrap the mold that I just made  ::duh

I have to say they look absolutely spot on , very well made . The original plastic handles I bought didn't have the hole in the side of the body to insert the cable roll pin and that is why the lever has an open slot (which is where they were known to break ), the hole was added for the metal levers. . Do you think it would be worthwhile extending the ribs in the lever and bridging the gap to strengthen that area.
Oooh , Red leather.

String- Thanks for the picture!

Adrian- I'm thinking $50 a piece shipped. With a minimum order of 2 handles.

BigPines- The door handles are originally aluminum and The hood/trunk release is ABS. Cost is exactly the reason I'm using plastic. This new material cures like ABS and is very durable. I did distructive testing  ;D

I'm trying some different finishes for the door handles like the silver one pictured. Next try will be wrapping the handles with brushed aluminum appearance vinyl and also wrapping them in carbon fiber.

Dustin & No Bull- Thanks for the complements!

What is the reason you are going with resin/plastic Alan? Aren't the original parts aluminum? Are you just trying to keep the cost down? Will they be durable enough?
If I don't have time to do it right, when will I have time to do it over?

These parts look awesome Schulze.  I would be a buyer for sure if I didn't already have an OEM set sitting here.  :(

I ended up abandoning the original material to make handles. I now have some new material and new molds. Here are some of the recent parts. Ignore the finger prints in the silver handle, it was just a test run  ::toothy There are a few orders to fill, afterwords these will be available to whomever.

I'm not sure If I should post here or Dustin's thread. The buckets are getting better quality as I progressively get better at moulding parts. It's hard to get the epoxy mixed, poured and allow it to degas in a 3 minute window. I also found that there is a post cure process possible that I plan to try this weekend. I'll post results after words. My goal is to make the part visually perfect, yet have the strength to hold up to years of service.
