Sorry for the crappy pictures, but it seems I only find time at night to mess around with the lambo.  And my current workspace in the barn is poorly lit.  Anyway I started mocking things up and what I found was the size, shape, and curvature of the window is all pretty close.  Where the problem lies is the tracks do not have enough curve to fit completely inside the door.  I ran a straight edge across the body until it hit the tracks and measured up to the bottom of the glass.  By doing this I determined that the window would be able to roll down about 6 to 7 inches which is about half of the window height.  I think that if someone were to just use the glass and regulators you could make it roll down further.  I am leaning towards only having a window that rolls halfway down to keep things simple.  Anyway this is about as far as I am going with this for now until I can get door hinges and mount my doors.  This is by no means a perfect option but it is definitely an option.  I don't want guys to get the wrong idea and think this will be a perfect fit, there will still be fiberglass and welding involved for sure.  At the least I think someone could use the glass, regulators, tracks and weather stripping from the doors on their fiberglass inner and outer doors for a complete custom build as it is usually done.

Got to another pick and pull today. Scored the passenger side door. I also got the weather stripping from that car for the door opening. Its fits the lambo nicely.  It is longer than needed, but I just cut it shorter. Also the inner door glass weather stripping fits nicely on the inner door shell.  Thats the bottom pic.

Thanks RT,

I will have to read through your build and see what you did with your doors.  I was actually thinking about trying to re-use the side impact bar from the Saturn door if I can.  I saved everything I cut off it. the idea of a removable skin is interesting. Thanks for the tips.

Mike, (as if you don't have enough work ahead of you) see if you can incorporate the side impact bar or something similar before you skin it.
Keep serviceability in mind.  Like glass, motor and linkage access.
You could follow my build and make the skins removable if you have to.
I like your concept.  I hope this works out for you and others to follow.

It isn't enough to want a Lambo, you have to want to BUILD A CAR.

The clamps were just so it would stay in place for the picture. The curvature is very close.  My plan is to trim the inner door shell enough to drop the upper frame in then panel bond them together. Then weld up the rest of the remaining door framing I might try fitting it to my inner door skin tomorrow. the inner skin fits my door jam and roof really nicely so I think I would be safe trimming it now to test fit without mounting the body. At the very least I think the glass and regulators could be used with custom tracks and frames.  However this would be a last resort for me.  I will get some pictures with the door against my car tomorrow.

Nice work Mike! Those look really good and could be used for sure! Are you pulling the glass to the door frame with those clamps? I ask because I'm curious how the curvature actually fits the original! If the curve is off and you make the door fit the glass then the windshield pillar will be off! I hope this works as this is a great alternative! Keep up the good work!!!  :notworthy

Also these doors were from the Saturn ion two door coupe. But I think it also had small swing out half rear doors. I will verify this tomorrow when I hit another pick and pull for the passenger side.

This last picture looks worse than it actually is.  The door skin could have been moved forward some still. I just wanted to show the difference in angles.
