Domino effect.....  the steel mounting frame for the tranny oil cooler required a RED Not seeing a hand to forehead emoji  ::)

Normally I would grind down any goopy welds but this time I passed  :LL:

I did add extra space for more rubber washers for the tans oil cooler.

So when the driver rocker (OEM Replica) was installed I did it wrong.   ::)  It was a while ago and not sure what I was thinking.  Some how I cut to much of the Quarter panel off.  888o  To fix this .....

Increase qtr panel by grinding backside of qtr panel and adding about 2-3 inches of CSM

Then Grind down the front and  CSM

Dura glass and Rage.  Good news Im getting pretty good at laying the duraglass on smoothly  ::toothy  Bad news, my mistake took a ton of time to fix

Now the rockers matches the distance to the ground from side to side.  :LL:

::helpThis is great! I have been reading back from the beginning and just in the first few pages I have found a lot of great ideas. I am in the same boat of having purchased someone else’s build and finding a ton that needs to be redone especially the stretch from a safety standpoint. Inspiring work!

Hopefully your project is in better shape than the REDO  :LL:

Its a ton of work to get the OEM side view mirror to work with the G28 door skin.

Wasn't happy with the way the body lines were from the door to the back of the car on the modified drivers side.

Had to cut the mounting system for the door handle and lower it 1/4 or so and welded it back together so the handle and lock aligns with the existing holes in the door skin.   ::toothy

After a bunch of this and that the door lines up better with the body.

Im still not 100% on the OEM mirrors on the G28 but Will move on to the passenger side.

Worse case scenario, I need 2 G28 door skins.   :LL:

New windshield install on reworked A pillars.

When the REDO was purchased the doors could not shut with out breaking the windshield.  (A pillars to close together)

Spent some time sanding the correct 2 angles and mocked up the height with 1/4 of washers.

Now the door install can continue.

Worked on the frame stiffing in the rocker area.  Used 1/8 rec tube for the bottom and my machine shop friend brought by some high strength steel plate for the side.

Also added ladder for sill area and made a sheet metal piece backed by dyna mat to go over the spray can insulation.  Will caulk the seams later

avoided catching the car on fire

Reassembled the door then took it apart to start fitting the door skin.

Need a few adjustments on my door latch, but ran out of welding wire, Saturday before it arrives.

The cutting and sanding the door skin actually went well, this time

When using OEM side glass the G28 side mirrors wont work.  Jose and Pedro were both selling Murcielago two piece replicas, but they were not LP640 style.

You can find some pretty good deals on LP640 style side view mirrors that are broken.  Both of mine were purchased as multiple basket cases over the span of 5 years. You just have to be patient.

Both driver and passenger side the folding mechanism were broken.  Lamborghini doesn't sell the parts to fix this but you can replace the plastic gear that is cracked  for $59

the worse part was aligning the silver metal bracket with the threads, with the black motor flange to bolt the two pieces of the side-view mirror together.

here is a video link of mirror folding

Actually nice out today so took the REDO out side

Got the the final mock up on how I want the rocker to sit.

Needed to add to the length of  Qtr panel and a bit to the rocker. So spent a bit of time cleaning and grinding the inside of the qtr panel for fiber glassing.
