New build taking over halfway done 2000 Diablo Roadster
« Reply #1 on: September 20, 2013, 10:00:58 PM »
Hello everyone!
New to the build scene just came up on a 2000 Diablo roadster. About halfway completed.

Stretched fiero frame
Real lambo windshield
Real side windows
One 300zx light...need drivers side..
Body still needs prep
Have only door hinges one installed not well though
Two different tops one is two piece inside and outside
Full fiberglass interior untouched as of yet
Doing the normal try to get it crankable this weekend, body only held on by a few bolts so removing body and starting from ground up.
On days I feel like a greasemonkey I will tinker with drivetrain, on detail artistic days work on the body and fit and finish...maybe that will give a good mix for me :)

Also it had wiiiide lambo rep rims and new tires....but my cousin got those for his countach replica he just got..was once driveable but needs tlc and restored....I already miss those super awesome rims...haha..I got stuck with doughnuts up front and stock fiero rims out back....

Can't wait to dive in I'm sure ill have lots of questions but perhaps I can give back in some way..

Gonna seperate body and do basic things first..tuneup, plugs, hoses, lots of sitting staring and planning, etc...you know how it goes taking iver someone else's mess...lol

P.s. still trying to figure what kit this is exactly...manufacturer etc...

MY GOAL is to have a really nice driver...not an exact replica. I want reliability of things like hinges, etc. And a fun headturner. I won't be going over 100mph so not looking at a hp-beast...more concerned with fit and finish with maybe a few creative breakthroughs of my own..looking forward to first drive around the block though I won't lie about that...haha
Best regards,
Joey
