I don't see any major rush to recover anything since this incident has probably tripled museum visits since it happened and will continue over the next couple of years. I'm sure this has created more media exposure for them than opening day and recovery will be a good thing for them for a very long time.
I've been to the museum a couple of times and it's really worth a visit if you are in the area. The plant where the Corvette is built is basically next door so combining it with a trip to the museum makes for a fun and very full day.

Realistically speaking: Cut a car sized hole in the roof of the building. Park an industrial sized crane at the side of the building and lower the hook through the hole. Lower a cable guy (not Larry) who is wearing a harness down in the hole to attach the cables to the Corvette's frame. Hoist them out one at a time. Time consumed: Two days.

Install a great big coin-operated crane machine like they have to win prizes.
You could win a Corvette!

I think they should use the tunnel that someone was digging under the museum to try and take the cars in the first place (but then they fell through the floor that seems to have had all the rebar removed...) then just pave the road leading into the tunnel and make it similar to Tony Starks work shop area... perhaps complete with extinguisher wielding robots...and various things about... and make it part of the tour.... behind structural glass of course....

Ok.. new game!
How would you retrieve these cars?
(Creativity points count!)
I propose that they put giant floaties on the cars (like little kids wear) fill the hole up with water and let the cars float to the top.

Jim, get down there and show them how! LOL
I understand they want to be sure the floor is stabilized, the hole will not continue to grow and nobody will be sucked in too.
I don't think I would want to be the guy on a crane that has to hoist them out.
I haven't heard what caused the sinkhole. Anybody?
Let us all be thankful there were no Lamborghinis (or people) involved.

Here is the online streaming Video from the Corvette Museum in Kentucky. They seem to be in no hurry to get the valued Corvettes out of the hole. I could have had them out in 3 days.
