I use chip board to form the curve of the seat, then glue 1" foam to the chip board while in the seat.  Then sew your pattern with 1/2" sew foam.

oem seat only uses 1/2" foam.  Very thin!

My frames don't have the molded fiberglass extensions that you are bolting up the track brackets to.  I can probably fab something for that.  Your track set up looks really good.  How much foam did you put on the base/sitting area of your seat?

Are you referring to the bottom frame sliders when you say frame?

Thanks Rodrieguz,
These pictures should give me a much better understanding on where I need to be for my frames/seats.  Thanks again for the speedy reply!

Diablo seat frame measurements
« Reply #1 on: March 16, 2015, 12:50:42 PM »
Hello everyone,
I recently purchase a set of fiberglass seat shells for my Diablo.  I set them inside the car and sat in one of the shells but my hips/legs seemed to not have much room and I had discomfort from the pressure.  Anyone know how wide the lower seat edges should be(the part where your butt is) or does that tightness tend to go away once the seat is cushioned(raised up) and finished??  I am not wide person(33 waist) but the frames seem a little too tight.  I guess if they are to small should I cut the side edges off, angle them out, make support brackets, then go over with a coating of fiberglass??  Measurements and any suggestions would truly help.  Thank You!
