Yeah , I know ! ,:)  that's why you are lucky to get a picture of one . I did look at quite a lot of cars and the Ford scorpio has a roofline rubber and also I think the Vauxhall vectra as possibilities.

Yes string is dead on with this...! And to my knowledge there is no same replacement to the original in this area. I need one for the passenger side of my car also.

That makes lining up doors look neater along the glass.

Yes it really makes for a clean look and better door seal.

So the rubber gasket actually goes between the top of the rear quarter and the roof?  I thought the quarters were just bonded on and panel bond creates a water tight seal. I wonder how you would change that gasket if it were dry rotted, just slide it down between the roof and quarter I guess?

Yes the gasket just pulls out in the gap between the roof and the 1/4 panel all you need to do to replace it is lube up your rubber and slide it between the gap!

Yep, that seal certainly fills the gap between the door and the body , that will stop all wind noise when driving and cushion the door when closing .
The pic has the rubber seal at the top end where it exits the roof into the engine bay ..

  That last pic was actually the windscreen edge ..., so yes it goes from the rear of the roof down to the front wing. I got originals a couple of years ago so havn't really looked hard for an equivalent replacement.

This is the alooominnumm  strip that is riveted to the roof & A-pillar . There is a short section riveted on the roof panel before the rear quarter is bonded on . Then the rubber is slid between the panels and pressed onto the profile.
