Unfortunately most hubs these days, especially those from front wheel drive cars, which is what is on the rear of the MR2 cannot be redrilled.  Sometimes there is a hub from another car from the same manufacturer that had 5 lugs that will swap but that is just something that you have to do a lot of research to find out.  You will probably end up with adapters but since you are changing wheels you can get the right offset to make up for the adapters and get the wheels in the right place.

I do not know anything about a MR2 either, but I do know that just about all wheel hubs can easily be re-drilled for a different bolt pattern. Leave the existing hubs and the existing hubface dimension, spend a hundred bucks at the local machine shop, and put whatever wheel you want onto it. When you get ready for Phone Dial wheels, I have them.

I don't have any experience with the MR2, but if you have room you could use a wheel adapter.  These would add about an inch to each side, so a total of about 2 inches in track.  Many replicas built on a donor chassis are not built with the proper track (too narrow) so adding adapters would actually make the care look better.  If your track is correct as it is, adding adapters would make the tires stick out too far.  You'll just need to determine if an extra inch on each wheel would be OK.

Gents,

My first post here.  Any MR2 specialists around?

i'm looking at a Countach replica rebody of a 2001 MR2 with 4 lug wheels from the factory.  The car is a legal turn key daily driver.  i want to put a 5 lug hub on the car to enable the use of replica Countach wheels instead of what's on there now.  If i can verify that such hubs exist and can be used on the car, i will buy the car as i can be reassured that the desired wheels can be used.

QUESTION: Any idea how i can locate 5 lug wheels for a 2001 MR2?  A point in the right direction would be nice.  It's been my experience that if i don't ask the question, i will never know what the possibilities are.  Thank you kindly.
