My favorite wrap e is the team salomone aventador

I would like to know what kind of finish is on this Lamborghini!

It's a chrome wrap but,  they left thin spaces between the wrapping and the paint to let the orange paint show through on the character lines

Here is a pic that shows more detail. It is cool. It kind of reminds me of Tron.
If I don't have time to do it right, when will I have time to do it over?

I *REALLY* like the look of the LB Performance / Liberty Walk brushed aluminum Murciealago & Aventador. I was wondering what is involved in making body panels like this. It seems to me these are probably stamped out and then brushed and then coated with a clear coat or something for protection from the elements. Is this how it is done? It sounds expensive. There is probably no realistic way for one of us to do such a build is there?

Aventador: http://www.speedhunters.com/2013/02/lb-performance-aventador/

Edit: Are these just wraps like this one: House of Wraps - Brushed Metal Lamborghini
Looks like paint to me. Some flattening agent was probably added to the clear coat to dull the finish.

Maybe I didn't find the right video but the Zippo Jeep just looked like gray paint to me. ::scratch

BigPines, look up West Coast Customs episode for the Zippo Jeep build. They made paint look like brushed steel. I'd go into details but I'm sure there is a video on YouTube.

If you cant see the difference between paint and a wrap, you may want to see an optometrist immediately.
I'd like to see one of these brushed metal wraps in person but I sure can't tell in the videos. I'm impressed.

There is direct to metal clearcoat. I used one by PPG on a show car a few years ago. However, it was to normal body panels not aluminum. The prep process for aluminum is a little different but that being said, I would be very surprised if there wasn't a dtm for aluminum as well.

Just as a side question - what do people think about vinyl wrap now? I hated it for a long time because I thought it looked really cheap, but now it seems most people can't tell the difference. I'm still going to real carbon fiber my car (I already bought it, lol) , but I have to admit it is very tempting to just vinyl wrap instead for the price difference and ease of use.
