The plan was longitudinal with a porche transaxle with adapter. I was going to go with a Viper V10, but opted for cheaper price per HP. Are you guys suggesting it won't fit or that I should consider another option?

will this engine / trans set-up be longitudinal or transverse 6-speed (side-ways like the fiero engine set-up ) like this below

We hope our post help someone finish their build or get them interested in our hobby and start a build.

700 hp in a stretched fiero chassis?  which way do you plan on mounting your engine?

So, I'm new to this board, but I wanted to start a build diary. Technically Rob (robsLP640) is building the majority of the car, but will be finished by me. The build should be done March 1st 2014, so perhaps a few months after that it will be driving.

On the chopping block that will already be completed is:

*Stretch chassis
*Doors aligned, fitted, poppers, hinged, glass and reinforced
*Front and rear lids hinged
*BIG brake system ( oh yea!)
*rear lights, front lights
*Air ride system (front and back)
*Sexy wheels mounted to that bad boy without the cheesy spacers

So as you can see the bulk is being done to make it easier to finish.

Once all that's done, I'll be looking at mounting an LS1 with about 700HP

I'd like to build it with a real manual tranny, Rob thinks it's doable, I just think the paddle shifters are less fun to drive.

I value everyone's input on additions to this car, so please feel free. Once I get more pics from Rob I'll post them. Progress should start back up in a few weeks.
