Thanks for the recommendations and the picture for the latch.  I was thinking how to go about tying that to the framework and your solution looks perfect!

Thanks again Jim!

I like the extra strength of more steel in your framework but the plate that your hinge bolts to should be beefed up to at least 1/2" thick.  Also the latch needs to be attached to the inner framework also.  Fiberglass can't handle the closing force of the door.  See attached pic.  Good job.

Wow! The details are amazing! I suppose this calls for another trip to the junk yard!

Get 4 of those if you can find them.

Started working on the driver's door this week.

Thanks guys! I keep going back and re-fitting all the panels because every little adjustment you make to one affects the others.  It has taken quite a bit of time but the rear is almost 100% set and I can move to the doors and then the front end.  I really can't wait to have all the body panels mounted and all the gaps correct.

Wow...that panel fitment is going to save you hundreds of man hours. Bravo!

Thank you!  The panels do fit very well together but it has taken a lot of time to individually mount and align each panel.  I am almost there though!

I decided to use these adjusters for my engine lid that I got from the trunk of my Passat.  These are originally used on the hood of the Murcielago.

Moving right along, looks dang good! While  were partying you were getting some work done!

I would rather be partying with you guys  :occasion

Here are the frame pictures, not 100% finished but getting there.  I still need to tie it into the latch somehow but I'll work on that this weekend.

Work on the door continues, most of the inner frame is done but I'll have to take pictures when I take off the door skin.  I bonded the jamb to the quarter and attached the door striker.

The door shock support is just tack welded at the moment until I have everything lined up.  Although I haven't had it hit the door or anything so that might be it's final location.

Door latch is on

Door latched in place

Thanks Mike!  I will also try to use as much as I can from the VW.  Those are the old style Murcielago  taillights that have been tinted, very badly I might add.  I'm going to remove the tint and then re-tint them but in a lighter shade.

Looking Good Pedro!

I was actually kicking around the idea of using a 1.8t passat for a donor drivetrain and dash, wiring etc.

Are your tail lights OEM with tint?

@ BP hahaha

@ Tusabes.  Hey mi amigo! Thanks for the compliment, yeah I don't know of another car using this motor transmission combination.  I hope it goes as easy as I see it, I know there are better options out there but I just wanted everything in one package that was easy to do.

@ am33r.  I really hope so also, I'm shooting for 6 -8 months and thanks!

@ Texas.  Thanks brother, I want to see you start working on yours soon.
