I am going to keep driving mine, and continue to do it without wearing the seat belt. It would make me feel like I was belted to a motorcycle. I have been stopped several times because there is no visible shoulder belt, but after explaining that a 1966 is not even required to have belts, let alone be worn, they say nice car.

Cobra are a deathtrap and the drivers know it . Do you think they are safe , or that the little hoops behind the headrests Save people's lives ? Anyway , that's besides the point for this build

The point I'm making is that for this build - in this thread - there is an easy solution to make the car far safer by using a thicker steel top support beam . Given the progress where there is full access to unbolt the aluminum part, it's at the perfect stage to make it stronger before it's too late

I've said my comments in the spirit of safety and constructive help and I'll leave it at that. I don't need this to devolve into a pissing contest
