As most of you already know, i'm changing my LP640 into an LP670 SV Murcielago. I'll post all the pics of my building here, along with my new headlight buckets, throttle bodies, center console and glove box, door cards, etc. I've noticed there is no "gallery" section in this forum, so i'll mix in some new pics just to keep everybody entertained (lol).
-
Murcie-Me, can't wait to see the pictures of your mods to your car. I'll work on putting up a Gallery (I like to use a program called Coppermine that I'll bridge to this site so the usernames and passwords work automatically) and that will give everyone a place to upload misc. pictures. This will help keep the build diaries more organized and provide an area for general reference. I'll get this started and should have it up and running by mid week.
Thanks,
Chris

Keep up the great work MM. The SV is amazing! I had been following your progress and can't wait to see your car as it comes to completion. Post lots of pics!
-
I've heard many times of your build thread but was never able to find it. I am really glad that you will be posting it here. I know there will be many things that all of us will be learning from you.

I saw his car two weeks ago, it looks and sounds awesome. I am sure that once he finishes it, it will set a new standard.
-
What's the point of this thread then
was posted over 5 months ago

Tallon, I kind of agree with you. Thats why I brought it back to the top. However it is up to him if he chooses to post. Hopefully soon we will see this bad boy ::toothy

See, I say that to get you to explain what you've done so far as you say the thread is for. Up until now you haven't. Look forward to seeing it.

I can understand that everyone wants to see Murci-Me's build, because im dying to see better detailed pictures of his build. Im new to this website but have been following replica lambo builds for about 6 years now. I guess im really anal and just havent gone with anyone in particular to build me a car because you will see several fantastic exteriors but man when it comes to the interiors they all pretty much looked really cheesy. I have met with several "so called" top builders like roblp640 and jvdcustoms and their extieriors were well done but they had not pulled off an interior at all. Back to Murci-Me's build... I saw 3 pictures on a forum of his interior dash and stearing wheel and 2 pictures of a white lp640 in a garage. If this is his work this guy is the baddest builder I have ever seen (talking about 6 years of research, meeting up with several builders, forums, pictures on build sites, and googling the hell out of the internet). I can see how he just wants to bust out on his car when its complete, But man Im dying to see more pictures of his car. I have lived my life for me to make sure that when I look back at my life on my death bed I can say I did it all with no regrets (Ok now im getting kind of heavy on every one! lol). Do your thing Murci-Me your obviously doing the right thing and you are in a class above the rest.
p.s. Just posted in the wrong section sorry Tallon lol

Yes murci me built that amazing white murci, the best finished murci hands down
No kit car seller like rob could ever come close to murci me, for no other reason that so much time has been put in that car. Murci me has said it's taken $52000 plus all his (free) labor to build .
Robs cars sell for $17-20k with no doors or interior because it's those finishing details that double and triple the build cost
-
yea like me I only get to work on small parts at work but it never seems to get the car any more closer to complete ::sad
-
Mike! I've been trying to get in touch with you so I can come out and see the car in person. Is this why u haven't allowed me to come check it out yet? ;D
You can come out anytime! Just contact me here and we can set up a meet!

Why aren't you using the lp670 style window switches?
-
Thats what I meant by "newer style". The 670 and 640 use the same style window switch surrounds.
-
I wasn't aware that both 640 and 670 models ever shared the same window switch style. The pictures I had found for the mx6 looked like the older 640 style.
The 96-01 Audi A4 looks very similar to the "newer style" as well.
-
You mean "MK" 6 right?

newer audis have the same ones
I think the older audi's are closer because they have the angle on them and grip, image on them looks outdated though. Older mazda's have the grip but they're flat as well no angle.
I think my A8 has some close looking ones switches.

Murcie-Me check out what was on MM site.

Yours is going to be amazing mike

Digi was right the images were edited, he didn't claim that they were 100% accurate parts just that the images were edited. And that person with the 670 upgrade mainly complained about the customer service, not getting all of his parts.
-
I never said anyone claimed the parts were 100% accurate, but for the price they cost you would expect something at least a little closer to spec. I dont know why someone would go through all that trouble to make a 670 kit and then drop the ball as far as any accuracy. Its no more work to do it right, especially when you're starting from scratch like they did.
Yes, the owner complained about customer service and missing parts, but in a PM to me at the old forum he told me the parts and fitament were crap, not worth the money.
-
So, i'm almost finished with the interior changeover (new OEM style center console, new center console armrest/glovebox, carbon fiber center console switch plate, carbon fiber stereo box, carbon fiber HVAC cover, new door cards, carbon fiber door sills), and the next step was the new door cards. They've been sitting in my shed for 8 months waiting to be fitted and covered. After searching far and wide for someone talented enough to do the stitchwork, I found a guy a few miles from my house (my regular guy Rafael is swamped and doesn't have time). I did the leather on the top half and armrest, and he did the shoulder bolster and main card (since they have stitching).
I prefit them 2 weeks ago, and got them back the other day. The first thing I did was assemble the 4 pieces, and install the door handle cable. I didnt want any screws showing, so I had to come up with a way to hide them. I mounted the card to the door under the shoulder bolster, and then 2 screws on the underside of the card with "L" brackets attached to the door that they screw into. The front of the card is held in place with 2 screws that are hidden under a cover plate that is velcro'd in place.
Once attached, the shoulder bolster is held on by 2 keyhole slots in the card that screw heds slip into and lock in place. The bolster is then held in place (so it cant slip back) with one screw that is covered with a snap-in cover.
-
Here are some pictures of the door card installed on the door. The last thing I need to do is get some new speaker grills from ebay.
-
I thought your doors already looked like that :S
do you ever plan on a 670 version?
-
Very nicely done

I made the cards a while back, but never installed them. It was tuff to find an upholsterer willing to do them at a reasonable price. One guy quoted me $350 just to do the shoulder bolster. I did the armrest and top half of the card (everything that didnt have stitching), and the upholsterer did the main card and bolster for $100.
And yes, even though nobody wants a 670 anymore (lol), i'm changing mine. As soon as the interior is done, i'll change over the exterior. All the parts are made now except for the grills.
-
You are right, no one wants a 670 anymore so I will be over to remove yours off you hands as soon as you are finished ::tongue

How much it cost to build a replica lambo murci..I'm very interested in building one.. Lmk thanks

It's seems like it fails to upload if I do multiple pictures. But one at a time usually always works. Would love to see more pics of your car!

To hire someone to build a "replica" murcielago, I would guess between $74K-$85K depending on the donor car. To build it yourself (depending on your ability level) about $40K-$50K.

Yes, you go ahead and send them your money and see what you get for it.
You realize that 99.9% of those websites that claim they can build you a car are just a scam, right?
You asked me my opinion on what a build would cost and I told you based on my experience. I have (like many others on this forum) built a completed car, and I built mine for dirt cheap compared to what others have spent or invested in their builds. I did all the labor myself and I still spent close to $50K in parts and material. Anybody who tells you they can build one of these cars for less than $75K is just trying to steal your money.
-
And unless they share a shop with GMC in Monterrey, Mexico and the common videos with Superreplicas are a coincidence, this is the biggest scam of all Superreplicas again. The factory location that they give on their website is the GMC assembly plant for 3500 dual rear wheel trucks. The problem with asking how much a build costs is that you have not yet defined your product well enough. Do you want the $2,000 wheels or the $10,000 ones? Do you want the 450HP $4,000 engine or the 650HP $15,000 one? Do you want a stereo? The $200 one or the $2,000 one? Are you building it yourself or will you pay $20,000-$40,000+ to have it done. Just these four things alone make a $40,000-$60,000+ difference in the price of your car.

Looks Great!
-
Thanks for the good advice..
Willing to spend 35k
-
$35K will get you a basic kitcar, doesn't seem like you can afford a Replica.
-
Thanks for the good advice..
Willing to spend 35k
You are welcome. $35,000 might get you something that is drivable and resembles a Murcie. More realistically, you would need to double that amount. Are you also willing to commit to spending the next several years building it yourself? If not, triple the $35,000.

Car is looking awesome Mike! What a transformation, good job brother.
-
Thank you Pedro! Sorry about the girl in the pictures, there always seems to be one sitting on it when I take it out for pictures.
-
Girl needs a smaller bikini! :LL:

After much deliberation, I decided to do a wrap on the Lambo. Ive wanted to do it for quite a while, but never saw a wrap/color that I really liked until I saw this color, Satin Metallic Purple. My son and I have been working on it for 3 days now, taking our time to make it come out perfect.

More pics

Wow Mike glad to see you still on it! That thing is still nicer then my real Murci :notworthy I need to give you a call sometime and get caught up, still have the same number?
