Are there not two sizes of tires on a Diablo or a Murci?  My rear tires are larger than my fronts even though the wheels are 19" each.  Last I knew, the ABS system senses and compares the rotation of all tires to inform you of a tire that is low on pressure, for traction control, and equalized braking.  Does the Impala have different sized tires?  This would change my opinion too.  I think that ABS is more trouble than it's worth.  My $.02

I don't see how that will effect it if your tire dia is close to the same. You will most likely need to recalibrate the speedometer anyway which should fix any issue.

Then for proper operation of the ABS, you will have to run wheels that have the same circumference as the oem Chevy on all four corners.

Jim

Why would the wheel size effect the abs?

I am going to transplant the entire electrical system from an impala SS. I going with the ls4 drivetrain. I want the abs, and all of the inputs the ecm needs. I am going to try to use the Impala SS bearings, simply reverse the locations. I do need to measure the mounting face to hub face of a c4 bearing and the Impala SS bearing to see what machining may have to be done.

It can be used as a speedo sensor for the VDO gauges.
It can also be used to trigger the BMW computer to think it is moving.

Robert, why do you want a speed sensor incorporated into your wheel bearings?  The computer would have to be modified for an ABS system to work properly or were you going to use it for the speedo?

Bolt pattern is on a 58mm [2.283"] radius or 116mm [4.567"] diameter bolt circle. The center to center distance is 3.955" hole to hole. The spindle bore must be 91mm (3.583") or larger.

If it will help, I can send you an accurate 3d CAD model of the Corvette C5 hub-bearing (no speed sensor) which I meazured from the actual part.

It appears a c5 rear bearing with sensor will bolt right on to the c4 spindle.  I can measure my c5 bearings if you need the dimensions for comparison.
That would be great Alan! Thank You!
