   Does this set up have a speed sensor? You don't want the same assistance when you are driving slow the same as high speeds.

I see now that the rheostat/Potentiometer will need to be tested for it's range of adjustment so i can find the correct digital version. Hopefully RT or another electrician will chime in to help me design a circuit

I've been working on gathering information and parts for EPS. I will be using the assist unit from a Saturn Ion/Vue. The steering system normally varies the assistance based on class 2 serial data communication from the cars ECU but there is a company producing a simulator that allows the steering system to function in other cars without utilizing the ECU. The system uses a manual rheostat to change the steerig assistance manually which I'd like to change to a automatic adjustment. Can I convert the AC volt signal from the ABS sensor to DC volts with a rectifier, then connect that to a digital rheostat that would automatically adjust the steering assistance?
