Welcome. Good luck with your build regardless of what path you choose for body panels.  ::beers

No way you can do it for $40-50k with OEM body panels , unless you do what I said and buy a salvage murci for $60-70k that has enough parts you can take off it and resell to recoup most of your money

O.K., but if you are going to do it on that budget, fiberglass warping should be the very least of your concerns, considering all of the other cut corners.

It's not unrealistic with a fiberglass body...

SX,
If you mean that you are hoping to buy OEM panels for 40-50K, that is doable. If you mean that your total build is going to be 40-50K, well you would spend your entire budget on panels. I also think that budget is unrealistic even with a fiberglass body.

Welcome!
If you can afford it why not, if it's going to effect you huge financially like it would most of us then I'd say nah
There's lots of quality fiberglass builds out there that look amazing and there is probably much cheaper solutions to preventing warpage than to buy expensive panels. Some mention adding ribs to the inside and/or stick with a lighter color paint.

not to me, buy used Lambo lot cheaper then build it the way you want. does not really mean anything how many OEM parts you put in to, it still will be a KIT CAR. my opinions are usually  wrong.
BTW check with Beyond Custom in Perth , he can set you up for 100Grand replica, best of all.

Thanks. I did see there was one posted here that was smashed at the front and back. GT I think? What does everyone think of OEM parts? Worth it?

There have been some wrecked murcielagos in the $50-70k range
You could get many OEM body parts that way , then sell the drivetrain and other parts to get most of your investment back

That's the only way to get OEM parts cheap.  So you have to decide whether you are ready to make such a investment of money upfront and take time to recoup from selling parts you won't use

They won't be cheap buying them one piece at a time
