Very small trans, mine fits pretty good in the chassis lengthwise

What's the distance from the axle Center to the rear of that transaxle?

Looks like about 18.5-19 inches.

Guys, This could be of use to someone, it allows a paddle shift to be added to a BMW v12 running the original trans, if the trans was pointed to the front and the drive put through a v drive back to the original diff as KevKev did then it allows a paddle shifter.

I got my 5hp19 from a passat 2.8, if anyone knows how to beef it up let me know

I make an adapter for the LS engines to the Audi automatic which can be shifted with a paddle shifter.  Stay away from paddle shifters on a manual as they will tear up your synchronizers in sort order.  PM me or email to eric@kitcarchassis.com for details.

Or an audi tiptronic transmission then all you need to do is take the 2 switches out of the gear selector +/- part and use them with paddles. And seems more realistic than just selecting through a regular prndl
