Blitz black looks good for a nice satin sheen

Go with satin black single stage paint. Its the black paint with a hardener. any auto paint store should have it. It will give you a great looking factory black without looking dirty or dusty with just a hint of a shine to look new. You can use Dupont ,PPG, North star ect. But Mathews sign paint is the best saitn around.
Good luck buddy! 8)

Don't think they're telling you what it's made out of for the sake of telling you that but rather to compare the appearance of black abs
Personally mine are flat black just because that's what I think the oem looks like

Yeah ok abs. But i'm not really concerned about what the oem headlight is made of. I guess maybe i worded my query wrong. But since we're making replicas and our headlight assemblies are fiberglass, what kind of paint is better to use, a flat black, gloss, single or two stage. I think i will go for something like what you used usmc-butler. Thanks for your help.

Digi is right there just black ABS. I don't know about them being shiny mane reflect light IDK but I painted mine with the grill high heat satin flat and they looked really close to the original when I set them side by side

Headlight assembly paint question
« Reply #1 on: June 17, 2014, 01:41:23 PM »
Is the black paint in the headlight assembly the same black as the rest of the black on the car ie. Rear diffuser, side mirrors etc.

Seems like it is less glossy almost satin. I guess it depends on the color combination maybe.

Would they look good in high gloss black with clear coat?  Thanks.
