Very serious. Most people cringe at it but wiring is my favorite part. I think because it takes finesse instead of money to make a beautiful wiring job. I have done this before, am an authorized dealer for Painless, been a friend of the man that owns Painless for 30 years, and I wrote the last two wiring articles in Kitcar Builder Magazine (although the first one was how to wire a Cobra, but it is still relevant because fiberglass bodied cars present a few unique circumstances).

Yes, and the Painless system flashes them to let you know when the key fob is in range and the push button start is armed.

The one big downside of the Painless is the $500 price tag compared to about $200 for OnStar, but everything considered I would still lean toward Painless. It would take two days, three tops.

   I am delivering two cars to New York in March and can come back through there and completely wire that if you are interested. Everything shrink wrapped, loomed, and labeled. $1,000 for the labor and about another $500 for the harness. I would suggest a push button start and remote keyfob door opener as well, no extra labor to put it in. I have either Painless or OnStar, both have pros and cons.

Wow that's sounds awesome! if I can free up an extra 1500 .   I'm definitely interested. Which would u recommend? Pain less or On star? And how long would it take?

This is the perfect time for you to learn about auto wiring and learn how to do it yourself.
This hobby is about building a car.
Besides, if later you ever have any problems with electrical issues, you will know what to look for and how to fix it.
