does the old air system work with a new Pontiac Gran Prix GTP ac compressor?  thks!

Flux Capacitors may have gone out but J.C. Whitney still has them, along with their atom smasher distributors and vortex inducing hood ornaments, all of which greatly improve gas mileage. I am not sure of the year it happened, but the type of Freon used in automotive AC units was changed and the old stuff like a Fiero is not compatible. I sell Old Air systems modified for the special line requirements of a mid-engine car, and with your choice of compressor mounting bracket, $1,250.

Guys, guys, when Zingus43 was giving me my annual physical last week, I perused the same question to him.  He said that flux capacitors went out with the flip phone.  It has been replaced with the X-97b zeon smasher.  If you don't believe me, he gave me the co-ordinates of the black hole that will prove it to you.

SM one thing, is 170 Amp a little over kill??  my BMW has 65 modules and use 140 , and some beemers new one use water cooled 150. just saying.
would you after you  relocate your Alternator post picture please ? love see how's mounted .

lol, could be :)  but the flux capacitor requires a lot of power!

 I paid like 1400$ complete pkg incl. extra long pressure hose and 45* fittings. and ac condenser

   That Vintage Air system is HUGE and difficult to install under that low and narrow dash. The Old Air Products system is much smaller, fits much better, and is a few bucks less. I think the reason your stock Fiero compressor will not work with either one is that all of the new units use a different Freon than the old Fiero stuff.

one more thing, I'm not sure on Murcie builds but on Diablos and using the 3.8 S/C Alternator sits high and if you want to use the engine cover must lower Alt or re located. i did not do it, i changed the alt 120 amp out of gmc and mod the engine cover.

I purchased the FerioRog set up to relocate the Alternator to the power steering pump location as the power steering pump is still on the engine.

An AD244 170amp alternator for this build.

You can use any system that fits.  I decided not to use the Fiero system for two reasons.  Firstly, the Fiero system is all mechanical linkages which I didn't like and was harder to integrate with the electronic controls that will eventually be in the car.  Secondly, I put a large structural beam right across the air output of the Fiero system so I really needed to move the main HVAC unit.  Since my system didn't have AC I was forced to replace it anyway, and so I decided to install a newer system out of a Grand Prix.  It was a pretty extreme installation....you probably don't want to go that route.   :o
