For my firewall or rear window area I wanted to try to get a more oem look, instead of covering in carpet or a plain fiber glass panel.

But first I had to remove the rebar...

I did use it in some concrete I laid when I put my power to my shop undergound :)

I added a bolster or what ever it is called to the inner door sill cover, Thanks Auto pro!

Modification had to made to the car, grinding metal removes fiberglass goop...and spray in insulation.

Basically every where I looked there was some clean up to my car :)

While waiting on suspension I have been working on the interior.  I purchased a set on door sill covers from IKR. fast speedy delivery and they will work nicely.

picture of the inner door sill cover.

oops, the story of my life a couple of inches short  :LL:

also not quite a good transition to the qtr window

and area below the qtr window

You have to keep prodding Richard....eventually he'll send them.  Once I finally received mine, however, they looked great but I found that one set of balljoints (uppers or lowers...can't remember which) wouldn't fit properly.  They weren't drilled deep enough.  The downside is that this is a tapered hole, so you need a special drill bit.  I didn't dare return them to Richard...didn't know when I'd get them back so I just ended up getting the bit and drilling them myself.  Hopefully you don't encounter this...when they do finally arrive.

I read about your experience on Pennocks, I like your build!

The six weeks that was told / sold on the Suspension system drop spindles and brakes has turn into almost 7 months (9 more days)

Still missing the front spindles  :)  Richard is a nice enough guy to talk to but for Ducks sake get the it done!!

So are we making bets that it will be 8 months when the spindles come in?

Beefed up the front cross member in the cut area.

Should look nice after powder coating :)

Cut the cross member for the Arruat wide track suspension.

Welded and Filled in the gap.

Grind.

Now just need to weld 1/8 inch plate to cover the area.

Then off to powder coat.

A big shout out to Murci Me!! The LED switches are a great idea.

It came together pretty well, the last button I didn't work the sticker long enough or the button could of been sanded a bit more.  But over all pretty satisfied, will permanently mount the buttons later.

Now I just need the spindles and brakes!!

Made the mold for the translucent buttons for the dash switches.  I pressed the button into the play doh and the thickness can out really close, so not much modification needed.

Still waiting of Spindles and brake system from Arruat,  been 3 months since ordered and deposit paid.

I did make the modification to the rear.

Also front cross member taken out , for easier cut clean & paint.
