Did you end up finishing the whole setup and have good results? I just ordered a used set of zr1 calipers/rotors (2pc) in front for a great price.

Maybe means backspacing? as I’ve used it wrong in my post also. I tend to do that.
Backspacing measures wheel offset from the back of the wheel, where offset measures it relative to the wheel centerline, but both reference the same thing. No matter which way you reference it, it has no relevance to brakes.

I'm doing the 1st setup for myself. Once Its done I'm doing one for Rick. Offsetting the rotor is required to get caliper to clear the back side of the wheel spokes.

I finished machining the rotor hats last night.
They turned out flat a parallel within .00005

I looked into many big brake kit options. None that I found would fit without machining. Including the wilwood. My issue and so is camarogod`s, we have OEM wheels w/ very little wheel offset. Custom wheels will work with many big brake kits, but not oem.

RStaggs, let's have an intelligent informative conversation, and I am willing to learn something new, but I say that wheel offset has absolutely nothing to do with brake fitment. Lots of positive offset, lots of negative offset, no offset at all, the brakes fit exactly the same.

So why did you choose not to use the 380mm (14.96) and the 365mm (14.37) sized rotors? I’m guessing it’s since your rims are 18”? (As my 6.0 rims were 18) and not the 19” that comes with the CT’s-v. I have aftermarket 19/20” rims that were on a murci I’m not sure of my backspacing but it’s not a lot. I don’t have my control arms done so I layed my rim face down on a blanket and put my rotor on my rim and the caliper seems to just clear. My brakes were included with my chassis I’m pretty sure there a c5 setup with 12-3/4” rotors. I’m going to try and figure out my offset As I’ve found some rotors with higher hats in the 380mm family trying to figure this out and since you’ve already started yours I’m going to pick your brain.

There are cheaper ways to do this for sure. It could be done for 600 less using iron one piece rotors in the rear. The cost of wilwood brake pads and parts didn't appeal to me. I like the fact these are OE brembos off of GMs highest level cars. Pads and parts are cheap and easy to get.

I just think these brembos brakes look sweet and it's going to stop on a dime. I like the making custom stuff out of billet.

The back brakes just require a caliper bracket to be made and welded on. Rotors and calipers fit perfect in the back.

That is indeed an impressive setup but you are in it at $1,300 for calipers and $1,500 for rotors, $2,800 total with machining required and no hats. For the same $2,800 or less you could have Wilwood six piston Dynapro calipers all the way around with slotted and drilled rotors and the hats also included as well, several offsets to choose from, and all of it bolt on no machining.

Theres a setup right now on eBay I messaged the guy to get dimensions to see if it will fit my wheel. I’m thinking I’d have the same problem with the hat not being high enough. Not really looking to redesign rotors like you did and keep cost down.
Funny I looked into the fancy corvette brakes but I’m not spending more on brakes then the engine. :(

So out of curiosity why did you choose the CT’s-v brembo calipers? I was actually looking at those as I want a 6/4 brembo setup as well. Personally I really like how they look, there’s quiet a few to choose from and range widely in price.

I bought the calipers three years ago. When I planned the build in 2014 they were the best bang for the buck in my opinion. I knew they wouldn't just bolt up but I figured I could make it work. I'm a CNC guy, so I can make whatever I need.

The rotors are expensive but the two piece design allows me to make a new rotor hat to move the rotor ring where it needs to be for clearance. I could of just used cheap one piece rotors for the rear but the exact drilled and slotted pattern was not available to match the front rotors.

These brakes are freaking huge. And it should stop on a dime.

I really wanted carbon brakes but I can't justify the cost.

Im in the process of putting CTS-v 6 piston brakes on my NAERC setup.
The calipers are aprox 1300 a set and the baer Earispeed rotors are 1500. custom machined parts are required to do this.

My setup
-2014 CTS-V calipers
-C6 Corvette Grands sport Rotors (Front: 14", Rear 13.4")
-C6 Corvette Front Knuckles
-Real 6.0 lamborghini wheels

Custom Parts/machining
Front calipers will be converted to radial mounted on my Mazak cnc. Customs Radial mount brackets. The front rotors require a 1.58" tall hat and a .675 spacer installed between the hub and knuckle for rotor clearance.

I took a chance on this setup not knowing if it was going to fit. I verified last night it does fit! The rear brakes are just bolt on with the exception of making a new caliper mount
