Almost 8 years into the build and I want to pass on something that I probably should have clued into at the beginning...
When building a replica, commit to using just one fastener measurement system. Either go with imperial or go with metric, but don't mix. In fact I'll go a step further and say.... just go metric. Buy buckets of metric nuts and bolts at the beginning of the build and avoid the urge to walk into hardware stores and pick up the common imperial stuff when you quickly need a fastener. All oem parts use metric, so it's a great place to start.
Unfortunately, my car is now a complete random collection of fastener sizes. At some point this will bite me in the a**. If I ever sell the car, the next owner will be cursing me.
