Adrian, What kind of chassis is that? did you build it from plans? I like the heim joints for suspension mounts because you eliminate the need for all the bushings and machining the little cam holes and other pieces you need for the NEARC chassis. Also I really like the rear uprights. I dont care about the road noise I want to do a spirit of america style race car. Any info on this would be great. Nice job BTW its looking really good.

Thanks,  everything about my build is custom, including the uprights.  When I started I had visions of racing it, but the $$$ dried up, sooooo now it will only be a "hot street car".  I did have cliff rework the front clip for me, it saved me a TON of work.

I agree with you on the rod ends, I can change them if the ride is unbearable, but the intent for this car was 1.2g's setady in the corners, 2+ stopping

It isn't enough to want a Lambo, you have to want to BUILD A CAR.

Your dedication is inspiring, keep it up! Yesterday it was 9 degrees in the shop and it's about to be 14" deep, this is the kind of stuff I need to see.

Tell me about it, we are getting snow right now here in Va Beach

Adrian,
I have two cars with the 01X. They have only test miles on them, and those are not hard miles, but I am confident with them. They are both behind 450HP aluminum small blocks. Before making the selection, I considered the way that rating is arrived at. It factors three things: friction coefficient (stickiness of the tire), contact patch (square inches of tire footprint), and downforce (weight on the tire). In other words you could probably run a thousand horsepower through that transaxle to a bicycle tire with no weight on it, but you may only be able to run one hundred through it if it is connected to a pair of huge and sticky top fuel drag slicks with a wing over them generating thousands of pounds of downforce. Looking at realistic numbers for the factors involved with these cars, I cannot see why they would not handle that horsepower.
