So nice Sir! That is a great idea and should really stiffen that piece up!
I met a man with a dollar, we exchanged dollars and we still had a dollar. I met a man with an idea, we exchanged ideas and now we both have two ideas!!!

Last week I bought a cowl piece from a wrecked Murcielago and I made a mold from it.  I  then placed the mold onto my windshield frame and fiberglased directly over it.  Tomorrow I'll remove the mold and take some more pics for you guys.

I cut a slit into the windshield frame to slide the mold into it.

Here is the mold screwed into place

And here is how it looked from the back before I glassed it in place.

Hooked them up to my 12v power supply and they worked great, they are pretty bright and should work well to light up the road.

My headlights are almost ready for paint, got a coat of primer on them and put them together.  I'll be testing out the lights today to make sure they all work.

@ notnilc20 – Thanks brother!

@ anny char – I’m always cheery jajajaja, thanks man!

@ SchulzeA – You know it man, need all the brake cooling I can get to stop the car when I need to from all the power of the massive Passat V6.  I hope the airbag looks better after I paint it, otherwise I am going to burn it and throw it in the trash. >:(

@ String – Yes, my friend did say they were aluminium and anodized black.  I’ll be welding the tabs on the back but I need to fit them to my bumper first.  Good to see you back on here brother!

@ plans4sale – On the earlier Murcielago and the LP640 the grills were made out of plastic which is pretty thick like you explained but the 670 is thin metal.  Also they are way more expensive than the plastic ones but I do agree with you that they are probably cheaper to make than the injected plastic versions.

@ lp670mike – Thank you my friend, hopefully I will get them next week and I will definitely take a picture of them for you.

Thanks for all the comments guys I really appreciate them!

Hi plans4sale, actually a friend of mine went to the dealer and told me that the originals on the 670 are made of metal  ::scratch .  Anyways this is the prototype and I still need to make sure they fit correctly so we didn't get them cut from too thick a material but they are very close to the original.  Probably can't tell too well from the picture.  As far as weight difference I have no idea how much the OEM ones weigh, maybe if you can tell me how much they weigh we can compare them to mine.  But would you really be concerned about a weight difference in grills?

Wow, I have seen several Murcielagos in person multiple times and I can swear the grilles looked like made out of 10-15 mm thick injection moulded plastic, complete with pocket mounting points and rounded edges for better air flow and aerodynamics. Maybe it's just the limited edition LP670 that uses metal grilles to save on manufacturing cost...

Just seen this .... and what a top job ,very nicely done .

I thought everyone knew SV grilles were metal ( I was told aluminium ), the mounting tabs are all welded on behind as you might expect . I did get up close for some pictures of one a while back.
Oooh , Red leather.

I think the steering wheel is going to look a lot better when you paint it black.
The 670 bumper looks freakin awesome! You even made the brake vents functional.  ::salute

Been working on my steering wheel but I'm still not convinced I like the way the airbag is coming out.  Maybe after I paint it black it will look better.
