G28 - Simple Mans, Simple REDO of an G28 LP640

Received the missing parts for the latch.

Did a little Dyna glass, Rage Gold.

The latch functions great now

Installed the reducible force gas door spring.  The drivers side some how leaked oil over everything, and no longer had the lift.  I used this one on the passenger side and installed a new on the drivers side. 

Test fitted the door skin.

On to the door handle

While waiting around for some parts for the door latch....

Cut the passenger rocker out and modified the OEM replica rocker. 

Widened the Sill.

Tested for fitment

Took off the Driver OEM replica rocker.  Definitely a REDO

Got the car outside and started on the passenger rocker, waiting on a part for the passenger door.

Also have to REDO the Drivers rockers sitting to high in the rear, that is going to be a REDO

Didnt get as far I wanted to as I had to work Saturday 

Cut and fiber glassed to correct the curvature of the inner door. 

While that was curing used 18 gauge made some tracks for the window

cut weld grind. Didnt have the touch this time when welding the thinner metal

Bent the upper inner side support.

Mounted the window motor, test fitted glass

Fiber glassed upper door .

On to the fiddly part, installing the inner window wipe and side tracks

The second door actually going better, as I actually feel like I know what I'm doing... to some extent     

 At least not making the same mistakes.

Up next the upper door curvature and the window tracks

the new inner door skin is warped on the bottom and had to be fixed as well as the front section.

also added csm on the insides to thicken areas that would be ground down on the reverse side.

thought about using the original inner door skin, but after 1 minute decided it was a POS

laid up some fiberglass to repair the weather strip flange in a few areas.   

Installed the flange that was made,  that runs along the A pillar.

Installed the weather strip.

On to the inner door skin!

Wanted to start on the passenger door in the first week of January but got side tracked. 

First thing to fix is the A- Pillar .  made some adjustments to the width to match the drivers side and add a flange for the weather strip.

Used the windshield as a guide for the flange.

Replaced the Rad hose that was leaking.  Will look for a gates hose if it leaks again

My gal and I, cleaned out the shop, and washed down the floor.. Radiator fluid smell is pretty much gone.

A break in the weather and was able to cut off the passenger door skin. Hope to start after the first of the year. Fun times ahead!

scored big and got an POS emoji phone charger from santa   How fitting for the REDO!

Fixed the hack job of wiring on the fan relay and now the fan switch works on all settings!

Was idling the car and a radiator hose had a slit in it and will require a replacement.

Merry Christmas!!  I hope I get some expendable supplies  for the REDO from Santa, I'm running low

Tried to fire up the blower motor and no worky.

Started with the relay and it has power. 

Deja vu on the wiring,  Tape removed tells the tale. 

Checked out the relay connector, lots of corrosion.  Luckily was able to grab one from the parts car.

After the repairs tried the fan switch but still no worky.
