Looks like all that prep work paid off big time. Looks fantastic!

thanks Dale!!, It sure is a lot of work.  with more ahead.  Really liking the FFG2 in black, no guide coat needed as it turns grey when you sand it.  Also every littlie issue is so apparent in the Black as it has sheen to it.

Sprayed some FFG2 on the REDO.  Nice to see it in one color.

Black is a great color to ID areas that need some additional work.

Plan is to block and fix the obvious issues.

Then spray FFG2, block again then move to 2k primer.

FYI all the individual pieces are just placed on the car and not mounted  :D

Well I blocked the body as best I could

Time for some featherfill G2!  I used a 5 stage Apollo HVLP. Started with a 2.5 mm tip and a D cap at 5psi and blew out a qtr in about 3 min  ::) 888o

Switched to a 2.0mm tip and C cap and 4 psi. So much better and smooth.  Using FFG2 and with no thinning.

The black shows every flaw.   8)

had to CSM duraglass etc to fill some holes from the removal of the old engine bonnet mounting hinge structure.

Also had my son in town for a few days and way able to get a couple hours of sanding out of him  8)

Longboard sanding, the arm workout of champions! It will pay off in spades when the paint flows.

Tedious, yes; physical, yes; time line, too long; necessary, YES.  Patience, patience.  Too many wish that they had taken the time to make if right.  When the paint is in the gun, any defect is going to show.  The long hours will only be known by the master builder.  ::thumbup ::thumbup ::thumbup
