Got the rear booth back today
my new drag racer
Wire tuck all done and car stripped of front panels
Engine bay all sanded back and all the holes filled in ready for sanding
Front wings all primed
Engine bay nearly finished only one more day on it and it will be ready for priming
First coat of primer
Booth off and wiper motor removed and fiberglassing the hole left
Most of this will be cut away to save weight
Starting to remove all the sound deading
Booth cut out for weight savings
All masked up ready for its journey tomorrow stay tuned :winks:
Centre section all sorted ready for its journey
Passenger side section all cut out
All the sound deading taken out

There is always a risk of receiving feedback (positive and sometimes not so positive) when you share pictures and information about your build online. Everyone should keep in mind that many builders are limited by materials, time, money, tools or fabrication expertise in the many different areas required to build one of these cars (welding, machining, painting, etc). I think one of the coolest aspects of this hobby is watching how others overcome these challenges while growing their personal skills.
Many of you have voiced your concern about using the rebar as a structural support inside the door and it's now up to the builder to take your advice under advisement and change this or leave it as is and accept any risk that might come with this design. This is a possible safety item that I think was worth calling out because of your concern for him and his passengers. I personally appreciate this and I hope it's accepted by the builder as the same. We are not the "safety police", but I think we all have a responsibility to our passengers and any future owners to incorporate adequate safety into our builds whenever practically possible.
I think it's worth noting that the roll cage is modeled after a race version of the Murci and it may or may not provide additional safety protection rather than just be there for looks.
Your points have been made (thank you) and the builder is aware of your concerns. Lets please move on so he continues to post pictures and information about his build.
Thanks,
Chris

Wouldn't the rebar break like spears, and impale the passenger if the door gets hit ?

Inner door protection.
I noticed the roll bar, but I still wouldn't leave rebar in my door for obvious safety reasons.

Yea run into that rebar at 15 mph.
Did you happen to notice he's running a roll cage with side bars? And what exactly is "straight bar"??

Cool. I was trying to find pictures of the maxima windshield so I could compare it to oem. It looks good.
I made atv ramps years ago using rebar for the rungs. No problems here... Burnt the weld in hot with my Esab... It didn't mind welding rebar at all

On the rebar note. I'm not sure what you welded it together with but.....
I consider myself a pretty good welder after 35 years of welding and rebar can/should not be welded.
I once made a ladder for a customer with their supplied rebar and the metal just cracked next to the weld. Rebar is the garbage steel meant to be buried in concrete and forgotten about.

Looks good, but are you seriously going to leave rebar in the door?
It isn't going to do a darn thing in an accident.
I would put a straight bar instead.
Other than that, looking good!

Fiberglassed the inner and outer skin on the passenger side door
Fiberglassed the hole where the gas ram goes
Door lock and catch working
Drivers door in place
Drivers door opened
Alot of fitting work and gaps going on its slow work but will pay off
