Here is a pic from inside the cabin that shows where the quarter window pocket was hitting the unibody.

This was one problem area I was having. I couldn't get the body to sit low enough so. I had to cut away part of the uni body on the rear of the door jamb. Then I welded in some tube steel. This provided me clearance for the quarter window pockets.

Well I was planning on doing a detailed write up on the rear stretch on my mr2. But like usual I decided to blaze my own trail and do things differently. Which made things way more complicated then they probably needed to be. Lol. Anyway I have made so many modification's to the uni body now I don't even know how to explain  it all. So I will just try and upload some key pics with some descriptions for visual reference.

Good job on getting this much progress done so quickly  ::thumbup. Getting that body lined up and mounted is going to be a major milestone believe me, just take your time.

I like to use weld through primer on any lap joints or enclosures that I have to weld. Just to have some protection if you can't get to it to paint later.

I still have more gussets and framing to add in the back there. Just want to make sure the body clears everything before I add more tubes and such.

Side tranny mount.

Just a quick update. I have been making lots of progress with the car. Just not been on top of updating the build here. Got my Frame notched and boxed. Beefed up the rockers and tied in the trailing arm mounts. Now I am working on lining up the body for my space frame.

You got this bad boy rolling yet?

hahaha I am getting there. I installed the engine and transmission last week. That's when I realized I needed to notch and box part of the frame rail to clear the transmission case.  Sooo out it went again. I did get the notch cut and reinstalled the engine to check clearance. Now I have to pull it back out and box it in. I got really busy at work that last two weeks and have been putting in long hours 7 days a week. So the car project is kinda stalled at the moment. :'(  I should be back at it next week when things calm down at work.
